Both Stratford District Council and Warwick District Council have now formally approved the draft South Warwickshire Local Plan and it has gone out to consultation – in planner speak Regulation 19 Consultation.
This process will run for a period of 7 weeks from Tuesday 21 July till midnight on Tuesday 8 September.
Any person or organisation may make “representations“. The key word is representations not comments.
So, unlike previous consultations, it is not about proposals you may like or dislike.
Representations have to be restricted to areas where you believe the proposed plan is “unsound” and contrary to legal or planning legislation.
In terms of Tanworth and the wider parish only the proposal to remove the village itself from Green Belt would seem to affect us. The Parish Council and the Association are seeking clarification on what this might mean practically.
However, when an Inspector comes finally to consider the plan at an Planning Inquiry early next year he or she may still decide it is “unsound” and ask both councils to consider proposals that were rejected by them at an earlier stage i.e. Danzey, etc.
