The Parish Council is currently considering its budget for 2021/22. This is levied as a part of your Council Tax.
This year there has been an increase in antisocial behaviour, burglaries and car crime. The Parish Council, along with both the Residents’ Associations, have been working to address these issues. However, schemes such as CCTV, Street watch or ‘My Local Bobby’ cost money. For example, ‘My Local Bobby’ could cost in excess of £27k per year.
The Parish Council precept represents a very small part of your Council Tax. An increase to the average for Stratford District would provide an additional £40k to spend on such projects.
A camera has already been approved for the bottom of Malthouse Lane in Earlswood and to put additional places like Valley Road would cost even more. A Parish Council working party is exploring this and other initiatives in and around Tanworth.
The Parish Council would like to hear what you think of such a proposal.
